Star Diopside is a unique gemstone due to its distinctive star-like appearance. This shimmering effect is shown when exposed to sunlight, and it exhibits a 6-rayed star effect known as asterism, a phenomenon caused by light reflecting off tiny needle-like inclusions within the stone.
The earliest recorded use of Star Diopside dates back to at least 2500 BCE where it was acquired from mines located near Lake Baikal in Russia’s Siberia region.
