DIAMOND FAQ

Diamond Information

The 4 C's refer to Cut, Clarity, Carat, and Colour. These 4 are the most important aspects of any diamond, and is how we're able to grade them.

Cut is the most important element of the 4 C's. A diamond's fiery sparkle and brilliance is dependent on the cut - a great diamond with an average cut will compromise the final look of the gemstone. Always aim for the 'Excellent' Cut grading.

The clarity of a diamond refers to the presence or absence of imperfections, blemishes, or inclusions within the stone. These flaws can greatly diminish the value and overall appearance of diamonds, especially when they are visible to the naked eye. The fewer inclusions there are, the more valuable the diamond is.

Colour is an essential aspect in the grading of diamonds. Diamonds are graded on a scale of D (colourless) to Z (light yellow or brown).

The more colourless a diamond is, the purer it is considered to be. Diamonds that contain a yellow or brown hue are less pure and thus lower in value.

Diamonds that fall under the D to F range on the colour scale are considered the most valuable and desirable. These diamonds have virtually no trace of colour and are classified as colourless. We only source diamonds within the D-E-F range.

Carat weight is one of the most important factors to consider when grading a diamond. It is simply a measure of the diamond's weight. While carat weight does not necessarily dictate the quality or beauty of a diamond, it is often used as a general indicator of size.

For example, a diamond that weighs 1 carat is generally larger than one that weighs 0.5 carat. Carat weight also plays a role in determining the value of a diamond. Generally, the larger the diamond, the higher its value. However, this doesn't mean that smaller diamonds aren't valuable or beautiful in their own right. The right carat is the diamond that will look best on your fiancé's hand.

We provide a wide range of both Lab-Grown and Natural white diamonds, specifically tailored to your budget and preference. You can select your own diamond in-store via appointment, but if you're unable to make it in, we will send you videos and images and the whole process can be done online.

General Information

Every engagement ring is unique and handmade to order. The whole process from choosing your diamond to the finished ring takes approximately 2 weeks, so please take this time into account!

Don't stress if you don't know their ring size - not many people do! We often make the engagement ring to a standard size, and we'll happily resize it complimentarily for you after they've said yes.

Our engagement rings are currently sold in-store at our Strand Arcade boutique, and online. For shipping, we offer a complimentary Express & Insured DHL delivery worldwide, so your ring will arrive safely no matter where you are.

Our Engagement Bands are offered in 18ct Gold or 950 Platinum.

18ct Gold has a higher gold content and looks brighter. Our Platinum is 950 graded and the most pure on the market. Both these metals will last a lifetime.

We don't recommend engagement rings in Silver - silver is too soft and diamonds are much harder. There is a chance over time the diamond can wear away the silver and the stone become loose.
